The 20 posters at a glance

Vintage Provence is the French collective imagination at its purest: lavender fields, hilltop villages, centuries-old olive trees, Provençal markets. The Provence posters in our selection play with this imagery through an Art Deco graphic rigor that steers clear of the postcard cliché.
The Valensole plateau, Gordes clinging to its hillside, the Thursday market in Aix, a game of pétanque under the plane trees. The art of living in the South becomes material for illustration, in an ochre, pink and terracotta palette that runs through the work of the PLM illustrators of the 1920s and 1930s.
To decorate a Mediterranean kitchen or dining room, see also our kitchen posters. A2 minimum to do justice to sweeping landscapes. Light wood frame or brass-patina metal frame.
Provence in a poster, from the Cassis market to the lavender of Sault
Provence is not one, it is many. The Provence of cicadas and olive trees inland. The maritime Provence of Cassis and Marseille. The Provence of village markets (Sault, Vaison, Forcalquier). The Provence of the lavender fields of Valensole. Each face inspired the railway advertising posters of the 1930s, and each deserves its own wall.
Lavender fields, the ultimate signature
Sault, Valensole, the Albion plateau: lavender defines Provence in the eyes of the world. Our posters show it in long purple rows running toward a farmhouse or a hilltop village, under a pale blue sky. The A2 size does justice to the rolling rows. Hang it in a south-facing bedroom, or in a kitchen that opens onto a garden.
The hilltop villages of the Luberon
Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Lacoste: these 5 villages make up the heart of the Luberon. Gordes and Roussillon each have their own poster: Gordes perched above its olive trees, Roussillon at the top of its ocher cliffs. The ochre-stone-terracotta palette pairs beautifully with an exposed stone wall or light wood furniture.
Olive groves and the Mediterranean rhythm
Centuries-old olive trees, terraced hillsides, Provençal stone houses: another side of Provence, calmer and more composed. On our posters, they mostly accompany the villages, as in Gordes where the olive trees run down the hill, in a palette of olive green and stone. Better suited to rooms for resting (bedroom, living room) than to passageways.
Markets and the art of living
The Aix market, the Apt market, the truffle market in Carpentras: Provence also lives through its stalls. Our market posters, set in Avignon, Cassis or a village square, show stalls of fruit, vegetables and lavender under striped awnings. A3 portrait size, ideal for a kitchen or dining room.
The Camargue, the southern frontier
White horses, pink flamingos, the salt marshes of Aigues-Mortes: the Camargue extends Provence toward the Mediterranean. Our Camargue posters play on the white of the horses, the pink of the flamingos and the blue of the lagoons. Combine them with Nîmes posters for a coherent southern wall.
Design a Provence gallery wall with 5 posters
For a rich Provence wall, we suggest a quintet: 1 central A2 landscape lavender panorama, 2 A4 portrait hilltop villages on the left, 2 A4 portrait olive groves on the right. Spacing of 5 cm. A wall at least 1.80 m wide. Dominant terracotta-ochre-blue palette.
Provence handles dense arrangements well because its palette is limited and coherent. The pitfall: adding a poster in very saturated colors (bright yellow, primary red) that breaks the harmony. The rule: stay within the terracotta-ochre-deep blue triangle.

Frequently asked questions
You often ask us
Which iconic Provence landscapes work best as posters?
Hilltop villages (Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux), Cassis and the Calanques, markets (Forcalquier, Vaison, Sault), the lavender fields of Valensole. 4 worlds to choose from, depending on your Provence.
Which colors define Provence in a poster?
Ochre of the stones, lavender blue, olive green, lemon yellow, terracotta of the rooftops. 5 colors that suit every season. Avoid saturated pop purple.
Which Provence poster for the kitchen?
A Provençal market illustration or the Provence lemon and lavender poster. A2 or A3 size above the countertop. It evokes the art of living and makes you hungry.
How do you design a Provence wall?
A themed triptych: hilltop village + lavender field + market. Light wood or patina frames, 5 cm spacing. Avoid mixing Provence + French Riviera + the Basque Country.
Which Provence poster should I choose as a gift?
The specific subject that speaks to the person. Someone who loves Cassis will prefer a Calanques poster. Someone who loves lavender will prefer Valensole. A specific subject is always better than a generic regional one.
