about this poster

Seoul poster, the rooftops of Bukchon and Namsan Tower

In the Bukchon neighborhood of Seoul, traditional hanok houses spread out their curved tile roofs, orange-red or gray, on either side of a bright lane where 2 figures walk. The eye glides along these curved lines to a green hill, where Namsan Tower stands out against the sunset sky. The title “SEOUL” is printed on the poster. This Seoul poster blends the orange-reds and grays of the tiles, the green of the hill and the warm hues of the setting sun, between tradition and the modern city.

A Korea poster for a living room or office

Its orange-reds, grays and sunset glow suit a living room, office, bedroom or entryway. In portrait orientation, it sits well above a low cabinet, a console or a desk. It pairs nicely with natural wood, rice paper, ceramics, linen and earth tones. You can combine it with other posters of Asian cities. It makes a gift for a birthday or a return from a trip, for a lover of Korea, a student of the Korean language, a fan of Korean culture or a traveler back from Seoul.

Your questions

What does the “SEOUL” poster show?

It shows the curved tile roofs of the hanok houses in Seoul’s Bukchon district, with Namsan Tower on its green hill in the background, in the light of the setting sun.

What is a hanok house?

It is the traditional Korean house, built of wood, stone and earth, with a tile roof whose edges curve upward. The Bukchon district, shown on the poster, still has many of them.

Choosing the size and the spot

Measure the space available on your wall, allowing for the frame you want to use. Then compare the sizes offered on this page and check the orientation of the artwork.

For a set of several posters, also plan the gaps between the frames. Keep your decor away from water splashes and heat sources.
