The 20 posters at a glance
Space race graphics, a style of their own
Space posters draw on the look of the 1950s and 1960s space race: bold colors, starry-sky gradients and typography inspired by posters of those decades. The style blends a futuristic imagination with the graphic codes of mid-century poster design.
The astronaut, a central figure
The silhouette of an astronaut in a spacesuit, alone before the vastness of space, appears on many posters, whether planting a flag on Mars or gazing at Earth reflected in their helmet. It embodies exploration and curiosity, in a style close to 1950s science fiction posters.
Rockets, comets and space exploration
Other posters show a rocket lifting off, a comet passing by or a planet like Mars, for a more dynamic mood, in the same warm palette or, on the contrary, in deep blues.
Star charts and constellations
The star chart poster offers another approach: a large circle of constellations behind a brass telescope, on a starry midnight blue, reminiscent of old astronomy charts.
Where to hang a space poster
This theme naturally fits in a child’s or teenager’s bedroom, an office or a hallway, on its own or paired with another poster from the same theme to make a small themed wall. The A3 size suits most walls; for a child’s bedroom with a smaller wall, A4 works just as well.
A futuristic metropolis, beyond space itself
The City of Tomorrow poster changes the setting: a city of slender towers under a ringed planet, with a couple walking on an elevated road, in pastels inspired by 1960s and 1970s science fiction covers, rather than an astronaut, a rocket or a star chart.
A ray gun, for a more playful register
The Zap into Action retro ray gun poster adds an object rather than a scene: an imaginary ray gun under the slogan Zap into Action, in a more playful register than the serious space exploration already described.
A whimsical planet in pastel colors
The pink-ringed planet fantasy universe poster changes the palette: pastel gradients and soft colors, for an imaginary planet rather than the planet Mars, already mentioned in a more realistic register.
